Be Proud of Your Masochism
No masochist should feel shame.
Masochism is a sexual orientation. Erotic life is not limited to genital friction.
Other people cannot understand this need. Erotic empathy is limited in most people.
Atypical sexual orientations must be accepted. Accepted and not tolerated. Toleration is condescending.
For the right person, in the right context, pain is ecstasy. Not necessary as the lashes fall and the clamps bite. Many masochists feel an afterglow. Pervasive peacefulness. Happiness lasts for days.
Masochists often feel the most submissive after dungeon play. For some dominant persons, this submission is as much the goal as the exercise of their need to be cruel.
Risk Aware Consensual Kink (RACK): sadomasochism can be injurious, like sports.
The realistic masochist has a safe word. The humane dominant knows this. Often more clearly than the submissive.
Almost everyone wants to push past limits. Being careful is no more than being wise.
Freed of guilt the masochist can begin the search for fulfillment. The need cannot be erased. Therapy will not change anyone’s sexual orientation.
